General

6502.co.uk was originally conceived on the 1st November 2000 as a computer graphics fan site. It further developed into an import computer games collectors fans site.

In addition to offering general videogame information in the form of news snippets, personal collection information and multimedia, 6502 also participates in second hand sales of collectors items such as import videogames. The primary outlet for these sales are via eBay.

6502 offers a section on the main collection page to submit an email address for further contact prior to videogame sales or trades via eBay. When you complete the form the following process is conducted:

1) Your email address is forwarded to the web site administrator via email "paul@6502.co.uk"

2) Your email address is automatically appended to a database which is stored solely on the 6502 web server (See web server)

3) A confirmation "Thank you" email is automatically send to the person who completed the submission.

This information is retained in a single database for future mails relating only to the specified purpose of informing in advance of any direct sales or eBay auctions.

The database contains only 1 field which holds an email address, there is no additional information collected either in the way of IP addresses or hidden data.

Web Server

6502 is run from a stand alone personal web server. The server is connected to two other workstations which administer the server in the form of updates and maintenance. Other than the uplink to the internet the server is not connected to any other machine.

Every effort is taken to protect data stored on the server. All server services other than Internet web browsing have been disabled, it is also protected by port filtering and an advanced firewall.
